Gingerbread house

I have always loved gingerbread houses and a couple of years ago I finally decided to go along to a cooking class to learn how to make one. It was held Christmas Eve so I had to be very organised that day, not only learning how to make a house but also making sure all my Christmas shopping and cooking was done in advance. The class was wonderful, but I do have to say, that making a gingerbread house was much harder than I ever anticipated. I had a fun day and bought home my masterpiece, well, at least I thought it was a master piece. You be the judge.

I call it my rustic gingerbread house! It may have looked dodgy but it certainly tasted really good.....my grandchildren demolished it in record time!

This year I decided that even though I love these delicious houses I was going to buy one that would last for ever. I found the cutest wooden advent calendar that is a gingerbread house. All the little windows are actually drawers that you can put a lolly or small trinket in to open each day. It arrived last week and just like my wreath it is not going to be put away before Christmas.

At this rate my house will be fully decorated before December!
